I’m a big fan of Isntree, one of my favorite Korean skincare brands. It offers gentle yet effective products, much like Cosrx and Round Lab. When I discovered that Isntree had a new product featuring onion as the star ingredient, I was curious to try it out. Here’s my review of the Isntree Onion Newpair Gel Cream.
Isntree Onion Newpair Gel Cream Review
Why Red Onion?
You might think onion in skincare sounds unusual, but red onion has some promising skin benefits. It contains flavonoids and quercetin, which are 30-40 times richer in red onions compared to regular onions. These nutrients are known to help even out skin tone and improve wrinkles, making red onion a surprising but potentially powerful ingredient for skincare.

Texture
The Isntree Onion Gel Cream has a gel-like consistency, which is light yet incredibly hydrating. Unlike other gel moisturizers that might feel watery and not very moisturizing, this one manages to hydrate deeply without being heavy. Its texture is versatile, making it suitable for all skin types. It’s light enough for oily skin but still moisturizing for dry skin, and it doesn’t leave a sticky residue.
My Thoughts on Isntree Onion Newpair Gel Cream
While I love Isntree, I had mixed feelings about this product. After using it for a while, I didn’t see dramatic results in terms of brightening or fading scars. When I had a breakout of pimples, I hoped the gel cream would calm my skin, but it wasn’t as effective as I expected. For soothing, I found the Klairs Midnight Cream or P.Calm Toner worked better.
That said, this is still a solid moisturizer. It’s very hydrating and could potentially offer brightening and soothing benefits over time. If you’re looking for a good all-round moisturizer, this one could be worth a try.
